...And someone just got here by Googling my name

Speak up, before I get scared. I don't know how that happened, but it makes me a little uncomfortable.

  • Weird. I have so many strange google searches that lead them to me. my fav was "culo pics"- eek!
Don't worry-maybe it is just an ex.

  • Google is weird/amazing. I had to edit one of my posts after someone's google of the firm I work for and "attorney" brought up the blog... where I had excerpted an email we all received. How awkward.

  • No, its not the odd google searches that scare me. (Bird genitals, DC chinese food, etc.) Its that by typing my given name into Google, the first hit is my blog. I would prefer that not to happen, so that I can continue to write whatever I feel like, and not have to worry about potential employers finding out that I have a rather biting sense of humor.

  • Hey...definitely interesting to think about where Google's heard your name in context with the blog, but probably benign. If it helps you sleep tight, I'm pretty sure that a bunch of the pages that refer/link to your blog also mention your name. Google somehow correlates these referring pages to the pages that show up in their search results when they rank and sort them for us.

Anyway, that may well be stale news...but my secret agenda for e-mailing is that I've been getting into the local blog scene while at the office (or is it that I've been getting out of the work scene).

There seem to be some very cool minds and personalities blogging around my neighborhood. Checking for updates on the local scene is on one hand a technique to prevente the corporate world from mauling my soul, and on the other a great source of ideas to brainstorm and keep my brain from rotting.

Finally, these blogs make me feel more in touch with my community. The more blogs I come across, become familiar with, and then begin to enjoy and identify with, the more I wonder where all the bloggers are hiding? Where does Clark Kent go after Superman publishes his blog entries and logs off? Who on my Metro train blogs? Could I spark a conversation with that guy crossing the street, touching on something really juicy from his blog earlier in the week? Who's been crushing on me? Who's been venting about shit I've done (without realizing, hopefully)? It's like an incredible rush of connectedness experienced within a haze.

Anyway, I just wanted to jot a note, but got carried away as usual. Keep the keys clicking.

P.S. DCeiver's blog is also one of my faves. I share this as it seems the two of you have met offline.
